This folder contains a repaint for the Spitfire Mk.IX by FlyingIron, in the colors of Spitfire IX MH434 ZD-B of No.222 (Natal) Squadron as flown by Flt Lt. Henry Lardner-Burke, DFC. He shot down at least two German aircraft while flying MH434. The aircraft later served with No 350 and again with No 222 squadrons. After the war, MH434 went to the Royal Dutch Air Force, where it flew as H-105 with 322 squadron in Java, Indonesia. In 1953 it went to the Belgian Air Force, becoming SM-41 and flying from Koksijde and Brustem. In 1956 is was bought by Tim Davies and it came back to the UK as G-ASJV. It flew the movie Battle of Britain and A Bridge Too Far. In 1983 it was sold to Ray Hanna and became part of the Olf Flying M<achine Company, where it still is, based at Duxford.
