Introduction:

Thank you for downloading our scenery.

The aim of this project was to create the most believable scenario for Milan Rastislav Štefánik International Airport in the capital of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava. Where possible, original 3D models were created. To complete the atmosphere, objects from the MSFS library and from various libraries were used with the written consent of their authors. You can find their names and library names in the "Installation" section. Many thanks to them for their work. Paragraph "Acknowledgments".  The updated version 1.2 includes: modified stands so that the boarding stairs work, A320 livery: Slovak Government and Seagle Air have been changed to default livery plus deleted trees where they did not belong.

Scenery description:

The basis of this scenery is an ortho photo (source: freemap.sk). It has been retouched in color to better fit the Bing map used in MSFS. The scenery covers the airport area and three other objects. A memorial to M.R. Štefánik near the airport. The Blumentál church and Istropolis in the city of Bratislava. The buildings were created in the 3dsmax program, wrapped in photo textures and converted via Blender. The memorial was created in SketchUp. The scenery uses the livery of the no longer existing airline Seagle Air. Because I worked there for 2 years out of nostalgia, I used this repaint for the default A320 in the airport scenery as a static object.

To view all objects, please at first download, unzip and copy to the “Community” folder in your MSFS:

Installation procedure:

1.) Delete, or backup the old version 1.1 of the airport from the Community folder.

2.) Unzip the file: "FP_LZIB_M_R_Stefanik_airport_updated version 1.2" for example to the desktop.

3.) Folders: Copy "fp-lzib-airport" and "fp-lzib-airport-ortho" to the "Community" folder in your MSFS.

Airport description:

M. R. Štefánik Airport or Bratislava Airport (M. R. Štefánik Airport or Bratislava Airport; IATA: BTS, ICAO: LZIB) is an international airport in Bratislava. It is the largest international airport in Slovakia. It is located about 9 km from the downtown area, near the village Ivanka pri Dunaji. It is operated by Letisko M. R. Štefánika - Airport Bratislava, a. with. (BTS), which is fully owned by the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic. Regular flights from Bratislava operate flydubai, Pobeda, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Wizz Air UK, and seasonal Air Cairo, Cyprus Airways, Ellinair and Smartwings.

The airport is the base for the Aviation Department of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, and Ryanair, AirExplore, Go2Sky and Smartwings Slovakia have their bases here from commercial carriers. During 2011, Bratislava was also the secondary base of Czech Airlines. In addition, two maintenance companies are located on the airport premises: Austrian Technik Bratislava and East Air Company. Air Livery also operates its services at the airport. In the ranking of aircraft operators, the airport is in category 4E, and in category 7-8 in the ranking of rescue infrastructure.

M. R. Štefánik Airport also serves as a low-cost alternative for passengers to and from Vienna and the surrounding regions. On the contrary, Vienna-Schwechat Airport also serves the needs of Bratislava residents.
