FSPM VFR Map

Please don't hate me but I needed to discontinue the version 1.0.0, you can get the new one here. I kept it for 3-4 days with the info to update, and I had to stop the service for 1.0.0. The updates from now will come through this website and won't be as "forced".

It’s a map. With your plane moving in it. In the Sim. Without any external apps needing to run.
(It does not open with the "V" key, this does not overwrite the default map, it is an add-on. You need to find it in the top menu manually.)

To update: Backup/delete the old community folder, and write the new one "fspm-panel-vfrmap" from zip. DELETE FIRST, DO NOT OVERWRITE!!!

Changes:
- The panel with non-map info is now collapsable
- Additional weather data (QNH, Temperature...) is shown
- Plane icon is a bit smaller
- "reload" icon goes up now, when the window is minimised. It's still visible, and I hate that this is ridiculously difficult to do nicely, but it's better like this.

There’s a basic “world” layer, generously hosted by Carto, using the OSM data.
There is also a layer you can select with some info about airspaces and nav data from the OpenAIP database (unfortunately not interactive, yet).

There’s also some more info about your flight and the missing indication (besides Garmin) about the wind direction.

You can teleport anywhere by clicking on the map and then choosing altitude, speed etc. Please be patient or pause after the teleport, until the space around you warps back into existence.

To install, unzip the file and copy the folder ‘fspm-panel-vfrmap’ to the MSFS Community folder. You'll need to restart the MSFS.

Beware: I noticed once, on the first install, when I started it first - the game crashed (VFR maps…). After the restart all is good, never crashed the game again. But just in case, when you start it the first time, do it right after the game loads, not at the end of a long flight.

Thanks so much @a5tr0 for your fix! For me the VSPM VR Map now works again perfectly (in VR with SU10), even better than ever before. I have a suggestion to the creater @scelt: Why not take the link to the fix into the description and maybe include it (with permission) as a second file? That would certainly help quite a few people and certainly make life easier for a5tr0 who currently answers most of the complaints.

As dedicated VR flyer I rate FSPM VFR Map 5 stars, for me easy teleportation is the most important part of it. Thanks!

I am very sad that airspaces don't appear anymore. 😞 It was really helpful, and an amazing addon for not the only VFR simmers. Let us know in the comments when it will be working fine again. We are waiting!! 😊

The FPSM VFR MAP was excellent. After update 9 MSFS2020, only get stats Alt, Speed, heading box, no map? I uninstalled, then reinstalled. Didn't work! Any ideas?

Ive been using this map for a couple of days now and i love it. I can finally see where the heck i am with out having to minimize the sim. I noticed like a few other people that the window doesnt show in the tab bar but it still pops up for me a few seconds after clicking on it so really that doesnt bother me what so ever. Truly useful and worth a full 5 star rating. Thank you.

Love the app, but after a panel reset, a tiny window appears at the far right and cannot be opened. Initial default window size seems to be incorrect.

Love this map, however, I notice it crashes the Sim when opened on another monitor. A real pity, because I love seeing the names of the places I am flying over. MSFS should have an option in the Sim for this feature.

A really very helpful tool.

However, I have two suggestions.

a) See OpenStreetMap (OSM) from e.g. Little NavMap to your OSM

Why is your map so less detailed?

Why is your map so low contrast?

Can you use another version of the OSM?

b) You have pointed out in another place that you can change the zoom by changing the script, so that you can read the writing better in VR.

Disadvantage: The teleport is then only very inaccurate.

Suggestion for improvement: Insert a button with which you can set the zoom factor as desired. If you have set the zoom to e.g. 150%, for example, you can go back to 100% for the teleport for a short time.

Hi there. What exactly you have changed? Maybe i dont understand well. Because the main problem was, that original mod wasnt accesible via VR or there were problems with it. There was a need of recompilation of the mod with the latest sdk to the date of the fix - have you done this too? Btw I am not afiliated with Scelt, original creator of this mod, or with any of his work and the site where i posted fixies is mine (https://a5tr0.sk/this/fspm-panel-vfrmap-fix/). Have you tried any of these fixies? Especially that one i recommend? (FIX2 with panel closed on start + osm.ch map ). So, we have to wait until someone will figure out how to implement it in the app... Openaip was the source of those extra layers - now it is only openstreetmaps via carto provider - if you want to have version without that not working button, see:

since the recent update the mod ICON no longer appears in my in flight tool bar above. Tried deleting the mod from the community folder and reinstalling it ( 1.1), but that doesn't work either. It was working fine until the latest update ( oct / 22). What am I doing wrong here?

thanks for your suggestion. I've tried to contact Scelt months ago, but with no success.

Obviously I put it in the correct community folder. However, the addon is not activated. And there's something weird about it. I have 3 computers, 1 is showing normally but the other 2 are not active. The community folder path should be uniform, but I don't know why this is happening.
