External lighting adjustments to brighten and improve visibility for the PMDG 737
This modification is only for improving the exterior lights' visibility on the PMDG 737 and reducing excessive blooms.
IMPORTANT!
- Version file 1.2 - updated to PMDG Versions [3.0.56] on 23/01/2023. these updates may vary based on PMDG Operation Centers update.
[INSTALLATION]
Before doing anything else, make a backup for the Effects folder located in pmdg-aircraft-737, pmdg-aircraft-736, pmdg-aircraft-738 [effects] if you choose to backout if something goes wrong or want to go back to the defaults.
[Installation Instructions]
Based on your MSFS 2020, follow the relevant path:
Microsoft Store/Xbox App:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
Steam:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
- Once you located your prespective PMDG Folders, drag the Effects into the pmdg-aircraft to overlap the current existing Effects folder. (Assuming you already duplicated the effects and already made a backup for all varients or on the selective PMDG 737(s).)
- Launch MSFS 2020 and test out the lights for your relevant airframe(s).
- Enjoy!

It should be fixed now, thanks for the heads up!

Thank you ! its really helping on taxi/landing lights. Just one question/comment. Dont you find the Strobes lights a little bit OP ? at least the regular non-led ones ?
Thank you !

What makes them OP? If the non-led regular strobes are excessive, i can reduce them to a fair amount for the next update.

I might be wrong and its in IRL too, but with the mod you actually see them illuminating outside the cockpit, Plus you actually see the effect on the ground even in daytime with sunny conditions.

Alright i see what you mean now, thanks for the feedback! Really appreciated it for improvements.

Hi ! so i did some testing on the latest version. The strobes strength sill looks the same as before, and as well there is some weird double strobe effect... Tested only the regular lights equipment

It seems i made a mistake for uploading the file 1.2 for 1.1 somehow. Download the 1.2 file if u haven't but if you did i'll take note of this again to fix it.

Hello, I am the creator of newlight. yes there is no interaction between the two mods, if you have newlights for the PMDG you will not see the modifications of this mod because it overwrites the original files, newlight works differently and will go over it, it is either one or the other
