Hearst San Simeon Airstrip (CN66) is a private airstrip northwest of San Luis Obispo and is situated almost adjacent to California Highway 1 in the beautiful central coast of California. Owned and operated by the Hearst Corporation, the airstrip sees limited airtraffic as it is only used for private use. The runway (15/33) measures 4300 feet and is constructed of asphalt and concrete and boasts beautiful views along the California coastline and Pacific Ocean.
The history of the Hearst Airport(s) is rich to say the least. Originally built in 1946, the Hearst airstrip was actually the third and final runway that was build for W.R Hearst in the 1900s. I have included in this scenery the previous runway that was constructed for Hearst (second built for Hearst) , originally contructed in 1936. The second airport built was a 2-runway concrete airport that was used by W.R Hearst for only a short while before constructing the last and longest airstrip just 10 years later. Eventually, the 2-runway airport was abandoned and demolished for the visitor center, as the visitor center for Hearst Castle today lies directly where the east-west runway used to sit of the 2-runway airport.
This scenery pairs nicely with Asobo's addon of Hearst Castle, as the castle sits in the background.
I've always felt the rich history of Hearst Castle was intriguing and was dissapointed on how the airstrip was depicted in the default MSFS, I hope you enjoy.

Good to see that DC-3 sitting there! It is said that Hearst had the papers flown in from San Francisco every day by cargo DC-3

Thank you for doing this Airport! I did notice that the building on the side of the runway was flattened though.
