UPDATE FREQUENCY OVERLOAD
Since first release we have been chasing moving targets with requested features, compatibility and bugs. Thanks for your patience during this time. We will now slow things down and not push 'Official' updates that generate notifications until deemed important or a 'milestone'
COMMON FIXES
If you have updated to a new version and things don't display how you expect, use the 'Scan' button to rescan your aircraft and rebuild the cache used for fast loading.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
MSFS Aircraft Pinner cannot favourite an aircraft that is encrypted. Not all store purchased planes are like this however. You can tell a aircraft that is encrypted as it's folder contains '.fsarchive' files.

REQUIREMENTS
MSFS2020 and a 64bit Windows with .NET framework 4.7.2 (will run without any other install / files on any modern Windows computer)
WINDOWS SMARTSCREEN
This app is not 'signed' with a certificate so Windows may warn you when running for first time. Click 'More Info' on the blue smart screen warning and run. It won't ask you again.
FALSE ANTIVIRUS POSITIVES
Every MSFS Aircraft Pinner release is scanned with VirusTotal, which submits our application to over 60 AV programs. This guarantees our releases are safe.

I think it's an issue of the ATR 42-600, because it's not shown in the scan list of aircraft pinner

Hi, this is a false positive. See results from virustotal which tests the file downloaded from flightsim.to with many AV.

The folder has an en-US locPak file, but I don't see a field called "AIRCRAFT.UI_MANUFACTURER" in it. It only has, under strings: "AIRCRAFT .DESCRIPTION"

Thanks, that helps clear things up. It's not the folder name, but the 'Manufacturer Name' of aircraft is not in the locPak and it has no aircraft.cfg.
I wonder where MSFS is getting the manufacturer name, I'll see how much it is in store... that would be only way to have it on my own system. I'll PM you regarding this

Hi, It's just a warning from Edge as Microsoft hasn't seen it as a 'commonly downloaded' file. I have submitted to them so it should clear given time but one problem may be the filename keeps changing when you upload a new zip. I don't think an installer is required as it's a standalone .exe ....let's see how it goes.

Same thing here. With this new version (1.4.0) the program can't read the folder, with the one before this (1.3.2), it does. I can also confirm that version 1.3.3 also works, but it can't find the Carenado Ovation I purchased from the marketplace...

Using 1.4.2, it is scanning correctly, but the app still can't find the carenado-aircraft-m20r-ovation, this plane is in the scanned folder.

I have tried that plus a search for everything ending in "cache" on my C: drive as well as the drive on which the simulator (S:/FS2020_DP) exists and nothing works.

Yours should look similar except 'win11user' will be your username in windows. Have a browse with explorer and try and locate.... I'm also happy to do a TeamViewer instant support if you wish. Just PM me if you want to try that

I am happy to do a teamviewer (although I've never used it and don't have it) but perhaps what would be more useful would be for you to quickly list what I should find where your program is looking. When I look at the location you specified, there are two folders, Community & Official. The Community folder is empty; below the Official folder are: OneStore | .fscontent | 526 files each of which contain 7 bytes with "pending" in each of them. It seems to me I have found the correct location to look but the simulator hasn't filled the folders as you would expect to find them. Is there any similar area where the simulator is loaded which will also work?

The tool makes much sense, organizing your hangar after almost 3 years of FS2020 usage. Thanks for your work!
Suggested improvement: allow for 2 paths to scan. Important for all users you have a custom install, i.e. content split into different drives/partitions. This would solve the issue with airplanes not detected in the scan.

I agree this would be a big help. I use FSADDONS Linker to place some planes in the community folder before a flight - this allows me to keep the size of the community folder under control. Those items don't go into the Packages folder, correct?

I'm guesing FSADDONS linker creates symlinks to planes in your master folder (or just copies them). So for pinner to work you would point it at your 'master' community folder that the addon uses and where all your planes are stored. To cover the official / store planes though it would need a 2nd location option 100%. It's something I'll work on over the next week or so

1.4.2 is up with optional second scan path, hope it solves some issues and lets you have both 'official' and 'community' aircraft with split installs.

Thanks, it's one of the few authors that don't use a aircraft.cfg, so instead use a generic aircraft.cfg provided by Asobo. I'm not sure there will be a way to easily fix this without a lot of hacking around, which is something that should be avoided. I'll keep looking into it though, maybe will hatch a cunning plan haha

Hi thanks, since a few updates ago the settings is remembered between versions as long as you have the app in the same location on your PC.
