Before Flying!

Well, for the second year in a row, Santa has failed to return to the North Pole after a night of deliveries around the world. You would think with all that Christmas magic, navigation would be no trouble for old St. Nick. But, here we are again. So let’s get on with it…
A VFR flight plan was filed from Vancouver to Bella Coola, BC. NORAD was tracking Santa’s progress, as usual, but lost contact with him near West Jacobsen Peak. I have marked this location on your map.
Weather conditions at Bella Coola were reported to be MVFR at the time, but had previously been IFR. Winds on the field were reported at 15, gusting 20 kts from the Northwest.
Assuming that Mr. Claus had acquired the latest weather report, that means that he likely would have set up for an approach into Runway 23. However, we probably shouldn’t rule out an approach from the opposite direction, although this seems very unlikely. Either way, let’s include it in the recommended search area.
It is quite possible that with the IFR weather blowing over, Mr. Claus may have flown into IMC and attempted to follow a valley in to get below the ceilings and improve visibility. There are two valleys that would be acceptable for this. I will mark them on your map. But don’t limit your search to only these valleys. Just because they are ideal, doesn’t mean that they may have been the ones used.
Wait. Hold on. I’m getting some updated information. I see..
It sounds like old St. Nick had a stuck mic. Radio communication can be quite spotty in the mountains, but a local was able to pick it up on their scanner.
This may be a big clue into figuring out what happened, and it also may help to rule out some locations.
I highly recommend giving this recording a listen before heading out!

That’s all the information I have for you at this time. Good luck!
Thank You!
Thanks to everyone who downloaded my sceneries and object libraries in 2021! And a special thanks to the few that made donations to help support the continued development of these free addons!
I hope to bring you even more detailed sceneries in 2022!
No matter where you are or what holidays you celebrate, I want to wish you all well for the remainder of this year! While we finish out 2021, I hope some of you will have fun searching for Santa, and maybe even have a chuckle. See you in 2022!
(No Reindeer or public figures were harmed in the making of this scenery. I mean, they may have been, but the Christmas magic stuff will fix em up)
All my dependencies are updated but I dont see the snowmen at the terminal, any ideas?

The Snowmen are part of the SAR package, not any of the libraries. Are you using the Bella Coola addon as well? If you are using a different addon (Like ORBX), maybe they are inside of a building or something..?

I have been searching for what seems like hours and still I cannot find him anywhere. he is hidden well. Such a big search area too. Maybe that could be narrowed down in the future. Definitely for those who like a challenge! Otherwise a great scenery with lots of effort put in. I know others who are more patient than I will thoroughly love this scenery.

The search area is left big on purpose. 😉
The more you can understand and pull from the briefing and audio, the smaller the area becomes. There is logic involved. He's not just slapped down in a random spot.
The best way to solve this is to take note of distances, consider what you would do, search those areas, then consider the what-ifs. I don't want to say much more, because I want it to be a challenge. 😊
Edit: OK. I'll throw one more thing out there for those who want as good of a chance as possible at finding them, without cheating. Maybe if you wait until dusk, Rudolph will guide you in..
