Mission Changer

Mission Changer allows you to change some settings of Bush Trips.

Choose the plane, the weather, the time of day and the season.
You want to fly a mission with your friends? Just enable Multiplayer for the trip.
You had an accident? No issue, just set a new altitude, change the pitch (if your plane came to rest upside down) and start the leg again.

You want to have a look at a Bush Trip in advance?
Double click on the Bush Trip and you will see the briefing, all legs and the full navigation log. Change the language to view this in all available languages. Is your native language included?

This app is experimental. Despite intensive testing, errors may occur. Please backup your community and local_state folder.

Usage

Check the Path. This should point to your MSFS folder (the folder containing Official and Community). Modify by clicking "Path..." if not found automatically.
Click "Read...". This will read your official and community folder for missions and aircrafts. The missions will shown. This can take a while.
Select your mission
Change the aircraft or any other parameter of the trip in the right pane.
Click "Save"
Double click on a Bush Trip or the image below right to see all the details of a Bush Trip.

A backup will be created automatically and you can revert the changes.

Supported Payware aircrafts and Liveries from any portal except MSFS Marketplace:

Payware from any other portal installed in community folder should be detected automatically!

Should be fixed with 1.0.1. Please let me know, if there is any further issue with this. Unfortunately, I cannot test this because I don't have this plane in this combination.

You are welcome, no worries.

There is an additional bug, when clicking on saved missions. Fixed for next version, too.

But will be obsolete with SU10, when the mission progress is saved into the cloud by MSFS

I just wanted to report back about my first impressions about this fantastic tool.

It is an absolute MUST HAVE in my opinion!

I was "hunting" for so long for nice bushtrips for my favorite planes. Some bushtrips are in fantastic locations, but i don´t like the plane they are created for. Some other have the planes i like to fly, but they are in locations i don´t like too much or i would like to fly it in a different plane, too.

It´s very hard for a bushtrip creator to read everybodies mind, to have THE perfect combination of plane and location and weather and daytime...

Don´t worry, with this fantastic tool you can easily change the most important parameters for you!

Just pick any bushtrip by a location, where you wanna fly.

All other settings like daytime, weather and the plane to fly it can be changed to your desired setup. Totally easy done, it creates THE bushtrips, you always wanted to have.

You can also use ANY third party plane you want to. Only if you purchased it in the official ingame marketplace, it needs to be added to this tool by the developer, if it should be missing.

All other third party planes are supported by the tool automaically. So don´t get confused, if your planes aren´t shown in the the list of supported payware aircraft yet.

And if you wanna use a aircraft from the ingame market, just contact the developer BuffyGC, he is giving really great support, others could learn a lot from!

Now i just have to find out, how i can leave here much more stars than 5/5.

15/5 would be much more appropriate.

This could be one of the tools, nobody should miss to look into it!

I´m doing my firs tests and think, it is great.

I have t2wo suggestions so far, to make it even nicer, i think:

Edit: i edited my post from 4 to 5 stars due to the excellent Support, this creator is delivering... but my Firefox and this website seem to cut off my edited texts sometimes...

Thank you for using missionChanger and the detailed review. I am happy to respond to your suggestions:

I have been thinking about a "Save As" feature for a long time, but unfortunately it is not that easy to implement. In some binary files the actual names are linked and this leads to opaque behavior, especially if there are already saved files. SU10 and saving in the cloud makes this even impossible.
Changing missions outside of Community and Official: I avoided this due to runtime issues. I also use an add-on linker myself and MissionChanger follows those links as well. So if you want to fly a mission, activate the mission and the plane and MissionChanger should find both and you can change them. Of course this only works with the same user context. If you unpack missions with an add-on linker as admin (actually a taboo), the corresponding directory permissions are also set to admin. If you use MissionChanger as user (which I strongly recommend), it can't find these files.
Official missions can also be changed with MissionChanger. I unlock the files and set the lock again to avoid that the sim updates and downloads the missions at startup.

My time is limited like for so many users and modders. I have a full time job in real life and my main project is the BushTripinjector. MissionChanger is a favor for some creators of missions using BushTripInjector. At first only available for them, I wanted to make this available to the community as well.

I would be happy to welcome you on our Discord and discuss your ideas with you, maybe we can find a way. The source code is publicly available and can be adapted by everyone.

Thanks for this but of the payware aircraft you have listed on this page, the only one I see in the aircraft selection is the Milviz 310R. What am I missing that stops me seeing the others?

P.S. It won't let me give a star rating even though I downloaded well over 15 minutes ago.

Sorry, I can't contact you on Discord. It does that thing where it tells me "You must claim and verify your account before you can send messages in this server" then when I try to do that it tells me my e-mail address is already registered. Whatever "fix" I try I can't get past that. So frustrating!!

I own the Milviz 310R and I can see that one. I also own the Just Flight Piper Arrow III and the Just Flight Piper Turbo Arrow III/IV but I can't see them. I don't own any of the others. Now that you've asked that question I can see that maybe the reason I can't see the Just Flight aircraft is because I bought them separately and not in the PA28 Arrow Bundle. Is that why?

Hello thank you for this software. I use Addon linker, and your app doesn't show my plane linked in Community folder. Do I have to copy the plane directory in community that the app sea my plane ? (Ex: DHC 6 Twin Otter, Boeing 247D, Just Flight PA-28 etc.)

Hi madvent.

Mission changer follows the junctions, soft links and hard links in your community folder as MSFS is doing and all Community Planes should be visible.

Of course, it needs a readable aircraft.cfg and not this stupid encyrpted thing of MSFS. But this is only known for planes bought on MSFS marketplace.

Please feel free to contact me on discord to find a solution for your issue and fix this, if it is a mission changer bug.

If you bought them on the marketplace, they are encrypted by MS/ASOBO and cannot be read. I'm sorry.

Hmm. depends on number of missions in community folder. Maybe 20-30 seconds for 100 packages.

On my rig, 400 packages, 120 missions, about 40 seconds.

There is many potential in this piece of software. Unfortunately, my time is limited.

A BushTripInjector user and mission creator asked me weeks ago for a comfortable way to change the plane for a bush trip without editing the flt-file for his users.

And this is the result, published on github.

I will extend the software to change some more parameters. But I want to keep the effort to a minimum. My main project remains the BTI. So there will probably be no language dependent texts of the mission like the BriefingText, calculated things like the length or something like that.

But since the source code is publicly available, feel free to fork the project and extend it.

Thanks for the praise. Currently struggling with the lost GPS and VFR map and trying to correct this. But the different combinations bring me to the brink of despair.

Probably there will be an intermediate version without this correction.
