With Tante Ju from Berlin to Rome - a historic route
The year was 1936, and after Lufthansa had received its first Ju 52s, the extraordinary reliability of this type soon became apparent. Lufthansa therefore chose the Junkers Ju 52/3m as its standard aircraft type. It carried out about 75% of all European air traffic. With Berlin-Tempelhof as its center, it served the whole of Europe. Even the important route from Berlin to Rome could be flown reliably over the Alps with the Ju 52/3m, as oxygen masks were available for passengers in the aircraft.
This flight recreates one of the historic routes flown at the time without any other technical aids to navigation.
Specification:
- The trip has a length of 785 NM, with 3 legs.
- MULTILINGUAL: The trip is translated into all MSFS languages except Chinese and Japanese. The basic language is German. The other languages are machine translated and may contain errors. If you have a better translation, feel free to send it to me.
- Weather is freely selectable. Live weather is preset.
- This is a VFR-only flight. Fly VFR according to the instructions in the NAVLOG.
- The flight is not complete until engine and battery are off and the handbrake is applied. Taxi to a gate or parking area to do this.
- The refuel button is only displayed on airfields with a refueling station. Always make sure you have enough fuel in your tank.
One more note: It is possible to fly from Munich to Rome without refueling in between. You should maintain a cruising altitude of 2500 meters (8000 feet), adjust the fuel mixture and do not exceed a speed of 250 km/h (140 kts). To check: If you have 30% fuel left in the tank in Florence, it will be just enough to reach Rome. - A PLN file for LittleNavmap is included in the package.
- As the airline is German, the announcements can also be heard in German, as was customary at the time. Switch on "Subtitles" in the options to be able to read the text in translation.
Necessary Adon:
Junkers Ju 52/3m, available in the MSFS 2020 Marketplace.
(If you do not own this aircraft, the flight with the TBM 930 will be displayed. If you own the Ju 52, 2 tiles will be displayed.)

Man kann dann stehen wo man will (Landebahn, Parkplätze, Gate), man bekommt keinen Tankwagen.

Bought the Ju-52 in the sale a few weeks ago and immediately looked for some content for the Ju-52. I found what I was looking for on your bush trip to Rome. The flight in real weather was really nice. I had to fight for almost an hour with sleet and visibility below 500m from the Dessau area. It was really fun to follow the highway in low-level flight. A real experience. The trip is very nicely done. Also the descriptions of the waypoints and towns were very informative. Very nice bush trip. Maybe I will do it again in summer.
PS: I noticed 2 errors in 2 waypoint descriptions in the third leg (Munich-Rome) that caused some confusion in the Munich South area. In Mission.72 and Mission.73 they refer to flight direction southwest, although rather southeast is correct. Just as a remark. Maybe this can be fixed. I have "played" the trip in German.
Thanks for the fun and informative 7 hours.

My compliments though' I point out 2 errors: 1) it does not load the Junkers 52 but the TBM 930 01 Livery
2) In 1936 the Rome Airport was the Airport del Littorio today Roma Urbe (LIRU) not Ciampino (LIRA)

Hello Pasquale63,
Thanks for the stars and your comments. Feedback is always valuable to me and much appreciated.
1) If you want to fly with the Ju, you loaded the wrong file. It is noted in the description that there are 2 files. The main file contains the Ju 25.
2) You are absolutely right. Because of the short runway of LIRU I decided to use LIRA. This is not historically correct, I know. If you want to take the challenge, you can land on LIRU and then make the short jump to LIRA to complete the mission.
Greetings, Koschi

This year does not really evoke good memories, I remember the suffering endured by my parents and grandparents at that time. I will do without this trip

I am sorry for that. All this is history and also my past. Only those who look back can look forward again.

Nope , No necessary addons from the Marketplace for me , and too many recommended add-ons

The plane can be replaced. You can use this tool for that:
https://flightsim.to/file/28469/missionchanger
Note, however, that the plane is loaded with 14 passengers.
Add-ons are recommended and therefore not necessarily necessary for the trip. The trip also works without these add-ons.
