This is a modification for the MSFS 2020 default Asobo Diamond DA40 NG aircraft and is primarily aimed at improving the aircraft flight model to make its overall performance more closely match the actual aircraft, providing a much closer experience to flying the real aircraft. Multiple changes have been made to the flight model parameters, and the aircraft weight and balance, which are detailed in the included Change Log file found under the Documentation folder, along with a PDF copy of the actual Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM).
This mod is easily installed by simply unzipping the download file and copying the mge-asobo-aircraft-da40ng folder to the MSFS Community folder. It will then replace the existing default Diamond DA40NG aircraft in the MSFS aircraft selection screen, and will also continue to utilize all of the existing available Liveries. To uninstall the mod and return to using the MSFS default aircraft, simply remove it from the Community folder.
The Diamond DA40NG is a next generation single engine 4 passenger General Aviation light aircraft that offers some unique capabilities and very impressive performance when compared with other similar GA aircraft. The high performance low drag aerodynamic design of the fuselage and wings, coupled with a unique 168 HP diesel engine that runs on much cleaner and less expensive Jet A fuel instead of 100LL Avgas, allows it to perform extremely well, and much more economically, when compared with other similar size aircraft. Because it runs on Jet A fuel, the engine does not require either spark plugs or magnetos, which simplifies its operation and improves reliability, and the other normally complex engine management tasks are controlled by a modern ECU, which completely eliminates the need for the Mixture and Prop controls. All the pilot has to do is select the desired % power with the Throttle and the ECU takes care of the rest.
STEERING:
This mod uses Free Castering Steering by default to match the real aircraft. To improve the realism and performance of your Toe Brake Pedals, I highly recommend changing the SENSITIVITY settings on the CONTROLS OPTIONS screen to the following...
⦁ Set "SENSITIVITY -" to 33%,
⦁ Set "SENSITIVITY +" to -33%,
⦁ Set "DEAD ZONE" to 0%,
⦁ Set "NEUTRAL" to 60%,
⦁ Set "EXTREMITY DEAD ZONE" to -1%.
This will make the performance of the brakes much closer to the real-world, where the braking force is applied very gradually at first and then increases as the pedal is pressed further down. This will improve the smoothness and realism of braking for all aircraft in MSFS, and it will also make differential brake steering much easier and more precise.

Are you still unable to fix the ECU and VOTER issues? they were working in the previous update.

Just one thing I have experienced after the last update: the ECU and the VOTER switch do not work.
Hopefully, you will fix it soon.
Once again, thanks for the great modification

the floating effect while applying flap T/O is weak, in real like is quite strong from flap clean to flap T/O.
and the usually after applying flap T/O, we set the power around 70% to fly straight, the attitude is around -2.5degree, slightly nose down, but here seems like the camber of the wing not changed while applying flap, the attitude required still at zero

But there's some minor stuff to improve.
The nose up attitude during ground can slightly increase more, should be slightly bellow the 2.5 degree line. somewhere between your current improvement and the 2.5 degree line in the PFD.
and about the power, why when I idle the power, the load still around 5%, should be total zero load when the power lever is idle, and the RPM during idle is around 710 while aircraft not moving (according the the checklist)
I love the way you focusing on the performance base on the AFM, is really good for student training when the parameter make sense compare to real life.

Have you removed the stall-warning whistle? After install I can only hear the "stall" from avionics
2 years ago
Yes... the default electric stall warning horn is redundant in a G1000 glass cockpit. But if you want to restore it anyway, just change this line in the systems.cfg file:
[STALL_WARNING]
type = 1

Is this compatible with the DA40-NGX project?

No... Both mods change the flight model and engine parameters.
