Lincolnton–Lincoln County Regional Airport

Lincolnton–Lincoln County Regional Airport (ICAO: KIPJ, FAA LID: IPJ) is a public use airport located five nautical miles (9 km) east of the central business district of Lincolnton, a city in Lincoln County, North Carolina, United States. It is owned by the City of Lincolnton & Lincoln County. According to the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009–2013, it is a general aviation airport (it had previously been a reliever airport).

Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned IPJ by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.

Lincolnton–Lincoln County Regional Airport covers an area of 453 acres (183 ha) at an elevation of 877 feet (267 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 5/23 with an asphalt surface measuring 5,500 by 100 feet (1,676 x 30 m).

Thank you very much for doing this. Lincoln-County (KIPJ) is my local airport, 6 miles northeast of my house.

I cannot critique the accuracy of your model, because I have only been there one time, in the main parking lot, for 30 minutes. I have never flown in/out of KIPJ in real life. What I do know is that it had a lot of buildings, one of which has wood siding (main terminal). You captured that just fine.

In the sim, this was the saddest looking airport, with no buildings at all. Thus I wasn't flying in/out of KIPJ. Just too depressing.

I'll be using it far more now. You did a good job.

Niner, I have two computers when I am working scenery, one on Bing Earth (actually Bing uses Apple satellite images and if you compare, their LOD is much better than Google Earth) and one on MSFS in Developer's Mode at the scenery I am working on. I can tell you that all buildings are generic and come from within the Asobo and Microsoft scenery objects. This in order to keep frames rates the same as if Asobo or Microsoft did the airport. I can tell you that all structures are in their proper places and in the correct size to match the overlay. My brother went to Gardner-Webb in the late 60s before joining the Army. This pretty much inspired me to do Lincolnton, Gastonia, and Shelby (Cleveland County) as when I visited, I became familiar with the area.
