Frontier Airlines Airbus A321-271N "Ozzy the Orca" N610FR, Pratt & Whitney engines. Airplane made its first flight in Jan 2023, and entered service in Feb 2023. The livery honors the Southern Resident Killer Whales, a unique population of 3 families of Orcas in the Pacific Northwest that only eats fish (salmon), and are critically endangered due to the decline of their only food source. From the Frontier Airlines website about this livery: (note: at the time of Frontier's commision of the livery, there were still 76 Southern Resident Orcas living, as of Oct 4 it is down to 75)
"Southern resident orcas are a unique population of orcas in the Pacific Northwest that are genetically and behaviorally distinct from other killer whales. Due to the decline of their primary prey, chinook salmon, the southern resident population has been decreasing for years. Large dams, like those on the Snake River, and the destruction of salmon habitat have caused salmon stocks throughout the Northwest to either plummet or vanish, leaving orcas with less and less to eat.
In 2005, the Southern Resident Orcas were designated as endangered under the federal Endangered Species Act, and they are one of the most critically endangered marine mammals in the United States. After reaching a peak size of 98 individuals in 1995, the population has declined to 76 individuals today. This new livery is an ode to an old aircraft we had, also named Ozzy the Orca"
would love a livery pack of more A321neo's for Frontier
