Homer is a hotbed of float plane activity. Numerous sightseeing businesses, lodges, cabins, and restaurants are located on Beluga Lake, all accessible by float plane. You can stay overnight at a beautiful lodge, and head out in the morning to nearby glaciers and waterfalls, or to look for bears in the national parks.
A seaplane ramp has been recently added by the airport authority, allowing seaplanes and amphibians to taxi from Beluga Lake, up the hill, across FAA Road, and onto the north airport ramp (see the 2022 ALP -- airport layout plan). Unfortunately, this is not currently implemented in the sim. I have added the seaplane ramp, adjacent dock, and the taxiway. The access gates on FAA Road are open, so you don’t need to exit your plane. But be careful, there’s a surprising amount of traffic on this road! There’s just enough room at the top of the hill to come to a stop before crossing.
I needed to redo the parking spaces on the two ramps so that I could add a parking space at the dock next to the seaplane ramp. But there are plenty of spots to spawn at. Since you will be doing water landings, I removed the beacon tower that sits, strangely, right in the middle of the lake. I have also tried to implement every one of the float plane docks on Beluga Lake. Many of these have static aircraft docked at them, but there are plenty of open spots that you can tie up at.
You can use this add-on alone, or with the excellent free implementation of Homer airport by quelcertoleo found here on flightsim.to. You can use that add-on even without the suggested additional libraries. It looks great. The pictures here are with the add-on, but without the additional libraries. There is an awesome payware version of the Homer Airport as well, but I don’t own it so I don’t know if this add-on will work with it. I didn’t see the seaplane ramp in any of the advertisement photos, though.
Notes
To install the airport, unzip and place the folder titled "mulberrywing-airport-paho-homer" in your community folder.
To see the float plane docks you will need to download the Seaplane Asset Library from flightsim.to and place it in your community folder. Many thanks to 30West for providing this great library!
I tried putting a z- in front of the PAHO payware scenery and the trees were still there blocking the path to the airport. I then tried removing the z- in front of the payware scenery and putting it in front of the seabase. This also failed to remove the trees leading to the airport. If you get time or anyone has any ideas how to fix this, please share your advice! It does work perfectly with the 2 year old Homer (PAHO), Alaska, US by quelcertoleo. It would be nice if it worked with the payware PAHO scenery. Again, thank you for your creation.

The only two things that aren't compatible are the fences (but that wouldn't be that bad for me) and the path from the seabase to the airport is overgrown with trees 😥
